"Split Pea Soup" with a Fresh Thyme and Feta Cheese Garnish Prepared by Clarence Gardener |
As many of us are approaching the fall season, it seems it is now the time to reflect on what the rest of the year will unfold. Anticipating and planning the holiday season is very typical around this time. What better starter to a conversation and meal than the offer of a soup? Whenever I'm offered a cup or a bowl of soup,I think it shows a warm hospitality. It seems that soups historically are the dish of choice for in home social gatherings, especially during the fall and holiday season.
There are so many things you can do with soup. I have always loved the split pea soup. It seems to be a very cozy comfort food that is also a great start or side to a lot of main course meals. What I have here is nothing more than a condensed canned soup that I have added 2 touches of garnishments to enhance the presentation. This is very easy to prepare for those of you looking for a concept. If you are looking to offer a starter to a meal or conversation that is sincere and refreshing, prepare a split pea soup!
Enjoy!
